What is inside Restylane?
Restylane for Lips is basically an injectable gel based on hyaluronate, a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan, which allows the skin to hold its volume and shape. Hyaluronate is a semi-collagenous polymer, so it naturally attracts water to itself. Hyaluronate is highly hydrophobic, which means that it attracts water to itself instead of the other way around. As water is attracted by hyaluronate, it forms a tight bond with hyaluronidase, which breaks down the hyaluronate—this break down of hyaluronidase results in the appearance of a younger and more plump looking Lips.
